Our God is an evangelizing God. From the moment that humanity fell in sin in the Garden of Eden God formed a plan to redeem humanity through the death and resurrection of His Son Jesus Christ, the Messiah. (Acts 2:23, 3:18)
From the moment the apostles were filled with the Holy Spirit they started proclaiming the Good News, the Gospel of Redemption. Just like the disciples, we are enabled to begin evangelizing after we are baptized and filled with the Holy Spirit. It is God’s nature to evangelize, and thus it is our new nature to share the Gospel. God wants everyone to be saved. “[God] wills everyone to be saved and to come to knowledge of the truth.” (1 Tim 2:4).
You are made and equipped to evangelize, to share the good news, to tell others that Jesus loves them.
It is very important that we use words and share Jesus. Evangelization must always be directly connected to the Lord Jesus Christ. “There is no true evangelization if the name, the teaching, the life, the promises, the Kingdom and the mystery of Jesus of Nazareth, the Son of God are not proclaimed.” (Pope Paul VI, Evangelii Nuntiandi – On Evangelization in the Modern World, 1975)
Talking about Jesus is perhaps not something you easily do. Maybe you never talk about Jesus. I encourage you to take courage, do not be afraid. Pray that God will create situations for you to talk about the good news of Jesus with unbelievers.
Share the Gospel with someone today!
